真的「搞出事」了！印地安人第3戰先發Trevor Bauer，日前因為玩模型飛機而割傷小拇指，而導致球隊調度大亂，而今天在場上投不滿1局，小指就出現流血的現象，在教練團觀察過後，決定讓他提前退場，由Dan Otero上場接替。
印地安人本場比賽延續前2場都先馳得點的氣勢，在今天首局就靠著對方投手Marcus Stroman的保送，無人出局就站上壘包，接著陷入低潮的Mike Napoli，終於適時敲出季後賽的首分打點，幫助印地安人在美聯冠軍戰的前3場比賽都先攻下分數。
1局下，Bauer上場投球，先是相當有氣勢的三振掉今天打第1棒的Jose Bautista，接下來雖然保送了近況火燙的Josh Donaldson，但還是順利解決Edwin Encarnacion，但在面對Troy Tulowitzki時，手指卻開始滲出血跡，經藍鳥隊抗議後，印地安人教練團決定讓他提前退場。
所幸上場中繼的Otero順利讓Russell Martin擊出滾地球，結束掉這個半局，守住球隊的領先。
